LOSING A BABY

So I watched CSI again tonight. It was an old episode, but very very interesting. I didn't watch the ending, but one of the cases was about a baby left in the car and died. I feel so disturbed by this. HOW THE HECK DOES SOMEONE FORGETS THEIR KID IN THE CAR. It doesn't matter how busy you are or how quiet the baby was. There isn't any excuse for leaving a baby in the car! You know damn well that when you leave the car, you'll remember to get everything, even down to the cell phone. If you can't forget something as little as a cell phone, how can you actually forget a baby?! Don't people these days look back to see if the car is secured and locked? BUGS THE CRAP OUT OF ME.

Ok, so the story was that the wife usually takes the kid to day care, but this time she had to fly to LA. The husband i
nstead had to take the infant to day care. 11:30 am, a lady found the baby dead in the car. When the husband came out from work due to all the police and emt lights, he thought his car was probably broken into. Come to find, he forgot his baby son in the car. The temp. in the car at the time was over 144. He claims that he had a hectic morning, that he normally isn't the one to drop the baby off, so therefore, forgot. Accident?!!

So heres another thing to think about. If you forgot your baby in the car one day, and he/she dies. You're now accused of baby endangerment / neglect to a child. What should your punishment be? WHATS WORSE THEN LOSING A CHILD....??

As crazy as it looks, its really a blessing to be around these rascals. They make your life a bit crazy sometimes, but they do make the day worth it at the end of the night.

WAITING TO EXHALE

"I know all about, About your reputation
And how it's bound to be a heartbreak situation
But I can't help it if I'm helpless
Every time that I'm where you are
You walk in and my strength walks out the door
Say my name and I can't fight it anymore
Oh I know, I should go
But I need your touch just too damn much
Loving you, isn't really something I should do
Shouldn't wanna spend my time with you
That I should try to be strong
But baby you're the right kind of wrong

Might be a mistake
A mistake I'm making
But what you're giving I am happy to be taking
Cause no one's ever made me feel the way I feel when I'm in.. your arms
They say you're something I should do without
They don't know what goes on
When the lights go out
There's no way to explain
All the pleasure is worth all the pain

Loving you isn't really something I should do
Shouldn't wanna spend my time with you
That I should try to be strong
But baby you're the right kind of wrong
Yeah baby you're the right kind of wrong

I should try to run, But I just can't seem to
'Cause every time I run you're the one I run to
Can't do without, what you do to me
I don't care if I'm in too deep

Loving you isn't really something I should do
Shouldn't wanna spend myh time with you
That I should try to be strong
But baby you're the right kind of wrong
Yeah baby you're the right kind of wrong"

PRETTY WHITE STUFF

Soooooooo much fun. We, Jessica, Joshua, and myself, played in the snow earlier today. We tried to make a snowman, but it was harder then it seemed. We made a big giant ball for the bottom, but how the heck do you make one for the center part? We tried making a ball on the side, then placing it on top. That didn't work. We tried putting snow on top to form another ball, that didn't work either. So how do you make a snowman?? Any suggestions? They should really have a "How To" book on it. But anways, since the snowman idea went to hell. We decided to have a snowball fight instead. It started when Jessica fell when running, then Josh and I just started throwing snowballs at her. The messed up part was when Joshua yelled, "tag team kristi." I was like...mutha cracker...thats not far. How did I get two on one? Sorta make sense, since I'm twice their ages. Still...NOT NICE. We did however capture some of our kodak moments.....

BRRRR........!!!

The snow looks so pretty and thick today, so I decided to be silly. I noticed that the snow makes such pretty imprints of shoes and snow angels. And then I thought to myself, what else can I make imprints of in the snow? This is what I came up with. Can you guess...?? :)

SPECTACULAR

MISSION: TAKE JACKLYN & NEPHEW TO AIRPORT FOR 7:30 PM FLIGHT.

TIME OF DEPARTURE: 4:00 PM

From the house to the airport, O'HARE, is roughly an hour. Traffic was ok; cars driving slow because of the snow. It snowed pretty much all day yesterday. Amazing snow! When we left home, there was about 4-5 inches of snow outside. Well we were good with time up until the last 20 miles. We literally stopped. Cars weren't moving, snow was still falling. The time was about 6:00 PM. It took us an hour to make 1 mile. There was snow everywhere.
Probably a good foot and a half of snow. It was snowing pretty heavy too, didn't look like it was gonna stop. Jacklyn called the airline and was relieved because her flight was delayed for an hour. So she still has time to make her flight. It slowly turned in 8:15 PM and we still had 18 miles to go. Clearly we weren't going to make the flight, so she went ahead and changed her flight for the next one, which is the following morning at 8. We were hungry as hell so we exited the highway to find something to eat. It took us an hour to get off the bridge. AN HOUR! Took us another hour to find food. WE FELT SO HOMELESS. We finally went to this chinese restaurant, HAPPY CHEF. And let me tell you, food taste so so so so good when you're starving. :)
We were done eating around 11 o'clock. So back on the road we go. Traffic sorta died down, so we made it to the airport around 11:45 PM. Dropped them off and headed home. The traffic was great. All cars moved beautifully. BUT! It all came to a stop. Not moving, not moving, not moving. We then started to move, but to a detour route. The detour was probably a good 3 miles off, but took me a good two hours. Finally got to the main road then smooth sailing from there. Got home in the next 30 minutes. Figured I was done with all the delays for the evening. BUT! Right when I turned onto our street, it turned out that the street wasn't shoveled yet. So driving 3 miles an hour was a must. I was so happy to see home. It was crazy because I couldn't see the driveway. COVERED IN SNOW. So I attempted to drive into the garage. And what happens? I got stuck in the snow. YES, tires turned but went nowhere. I had to reverse and drive..reverse and drive....reverse and drive. I did that for a good 10 minutes before I finally made it up the driveway and into the garage.

TIME OF ARRIVAL: 2:00 AM.

PICTURE WORTH A THOUSAND WORDS

So here I go, blogging again. :) Its difficult sometimes to think of something to blog about. Usually when I do blog, its about something present. For example, when you see a box of cereal with a cool new toy inside. Then next thing you know you're buying 5 boxes of cereal just to get that kickass toy. Of course, that never happened to me. :P

But today, I think I'm gonna blog about a photo. Its old, but not that old. Probably about 8 months old. If my memories serves me right, I think that day, we had a mini bbq. It was outside at my parents place. Grub grub grub...burp burp burp. AnyhOo, my nephew Alex and I decided to play on my dads truck. We were being camera whores and started taking pictures of each other with my camera phone. It was fun. Well its always fun when playing with my nieces and nephews. We took all kinds of photo shots. Pictures of him kissing me, me kissing him. Me giving him a piggy back ride, him giving me a piggy back ride. haha But out of all the pictures we took, this one is definitely my favorite.

It has such a fun look to it. And even though he is missing his two front teeth, his smile never looked better. It so natural and graceful. I was there, in the delivery room, when Alex was born. I also named him. I wanted to name one of my boys Alex. But when I looked at him for the first time, the name Alex just shouted out to me. He was the cutest thing, all blue and everything. He's 5 now. My family seems to think that he looks like me. Same lips and eyes. Not to mention he has the same skin complexion as me too. He is such a baby sometimes and oh so adorable. Every time I would come back to my parents house to visit, he would run up to me and start hugging my leg. Did I mention that he's a small little fella. He's soo petite. So seeing a little guy run to you with such excitEment is just the darnest thing.

I forgot what's my main topic for this blog was, so just look at the pretty picture. :)

THERE'S ALWAYS SOMETHING TO DO

I was looking through some pictures from the previous holidays and realized I didn't get to show off some of my projects. ;) I know its a bit late, but oh well!
For Halloween, I put together this ginger bread haunted house. It was a bit difficult at first. I was being a guy and didn't bother to read the intructions. I couldn't figure out why the walls of the house wouldn't stay together. The icing was used as glue, but somehow didn't keep the two pieces together. I messed with it for about an hour until I finially decided to read the instructions. Turns out that I had to let each piece dry for an hour. AN HOUR! There were like 6 pieces, it would have taken me forever to finish it. So what did I do? I iced all the pieces together. And instead of holding each piece to each piece, I had cups and bowls to hold them up. My little house was surrounded by cups and bowls. Quite messy actually. So I left it to dry over night and started designing it the following day. I gotta say, coloring it was a lot easier and not to mention, fun! The kids sorta helped me with it. They kept munching on the candy though. But yea...this is how it came out.

My sister's birthday was on the 27th of October. Kinda late to be blogging about it, but yea. Her kids didn't really get anything for her birthday so we decided to make her a cake. So of course, I baked the cake and bought the supplies. I made chocolate cake with chocolate icing. I went to JOANNS and got this already made fondant icing, which is hard icing. The kids made the strips of ribbon and I put everything together. Everything looks pretty good except when it came to the tasting part. I gotta say, that fondant icing wasn't so yummy. It tasted like nothing, well almost like wax. So when the time came to eat the cake, I had everyone peel off the hard icing and just eat the cake. The kids didn'tlike the icing, neither did I, or Uncle Ben. haha So we had cake, with a side of goo'ie crap. Pretty cake, yuckie icing. :)
